Assalamualikum Wbt. My name is AHMAD HAIKAL SYAHMI BIN OTHMAN, I'm from the department of Arabic language and literature.
Class Overview
Today, I examined themes linked to obstacles to sustainable
development. We also studied this topic using the Zoom app. There are three
sorts of problems to sustainable development: social, economic, and
environmental. In addition, we spoke with the lecturer about our project, which
is also about difficulties to sustainable development. Furthermore, the
instructor questioned each group about the status of the ongoing project.
Personal Reflection
Sustainable development is an empowerment goal that offers a
challenging opportunity to reconcile economic growth with environmental
protection and social equity. Going through this, it came to my mind how these
challenges are very much intertwined: climate change, social inequalities, and
frictions against change—most often prevent progress. It brings to my mind the
importance of working in collaboration and taking personal responsibility. It
definitely makes me more aware of being sustainable with my acts and in
policy-making, to be able to advocate for a world that focuses on well-being
rather than quick profit. Even among the many challenges, small actions with
meaning can indeed help create a better future.
Application Of Learning
- Engage in Action Research
Collect data as a group via surveys, interviews, or
observations. For example: Ask community members about their environmental or
socioeconomic problems.
Analyze data to detect patterns (for example, locations with
high waste).
-Apply locally. Carry out a community audit.
Find out how these issues manifest in your community or
region. For instance:
Environmental: Is there obvious pollution or waste issues in
your community?
Economic: Are there concerns about losing a job or not
having sufficient resources?
Social: Do vulnerable groups have less access to important
services? Institutional: Are there gaps in policy or enforcement?
Conclusion
Sustainable development is an important, yet difficult goal.
It requires attention to environmental stewardship, strong economic systems,
and fair treatment of all people. As noted earlier, this set of interlinked
issues calls for cooperation in communities and individual responsibility in
finding solutions. Coming to grips with this fact brings the realization that
even small actions can have large effects.
This will help find and solve problems locally through the
practical steps-based learning, such as doing action research and community
audits. Valuing well-being over quick profits will only endure by linking
knowledge to real action. Lastly, it is a collective responsibility to reach
sustainable development; it requires commitment, flexibility, and a strong
focus on building the best possible future for all.
