Facilities of IIUM MOSQUE

Class Overview

For this class, our group visited the IIUM Shah Mosque and conducted observations. We discovered three crucial lessons: efficient use of shared spaces, resource management in ablution areas, and infrastructure maintenance. We also have many possibilities to use the university's facilities, which benefits both students and visitors to the mosque.

 Personal Reflection

"Efficient use of shared spaces" puts emphasis on being alert and respectful in spaces we share with others. Be it a classroom, hallway, or restroom, using these spaces appropriately benefits all parties involved.Keeping the place clean and orderly, and using other people's resources wisely, one shows respect to other people's concern, hence a more conducive environment for everybody to live. Even little steps of actions, like putting something in their proper places, cleaning up after oneself, significantly creates an impact on a bigger picture.

"Resource management in ablution areas" refers to the necessity of responsible usage and shared cleaning of water and resources. Since washrooms can easily be shared spaces, people are often careless about water use and waste the facilities without realizing the impact. To respect others and the environment is to use resources properly: when taking just the water we need, turning off the tap properly after use, and cleaning after oneself. It has also taught us to be considerate and not to take resources for granted.

"Infrastructure maintenance" evokes the duty of taking care of the spaces and the facilities we use. This could mean fixing a broken tap, painting the walls, or cleaning common areas: Regular maintenance sustains the functional abilities of the facilities and assures safety for all users.Dispose of wastes in the right place-infrastructure speaks of our maturity towards cleanliness, which should be inculcated within our conscience sincerely. Material goods don't only reflect that materialistic approach; they reflect responsibility and gratefulness. Being aware of slow deterioration like mentioning an issue or cleaning an area-even the small ones-count in maintaining spaces we all have to rely on.

Application Of Learning

Efficient Use of Shared Spaces :

- Be considerate of others – I will respect others’ needs, such as keeping noise low and using space without blocking others.

"Resource management in ablution areas"

Report issues – If I see leaking taps or broken facilities, I will inform the right person to fix them.

"Infrastructure maintenance"

Use facilities properly – I will avoid damaging equipment, walls, or furniture.

Conclusion

Among the things that stuck with us from our time at the IIUM Shah Mosque include the importance of efficiently shared spaces, the responsible management of resources in ablution facilities, and the maintenance of infrastructure. The lessons here remind us always to be aware, respectful and responsible in the use of shared spaces. Little acts like ensuring that spaces are clean, wisely using resources, and reporting problems would go a long way toward providing organized, sustainable spaces for everyone.
