WEEK 1 - INTRODUCTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Assalamualikum Wbt. My name is AHMAD HAIKAL SYAHMI BIN OTHMAN, I'm from the department of Arabic language and literature.

First day of SCSH 1201 class, with great sharing session with my friends.

Class Overview

On the first day of the class, we introduced ourselves by stating our names, place of birth, the cost of subjects taken at the university and describing the unique qualities of you and describing a word about SDG. We also covered the course framework and this subject's assignment. We also talked about the IIUM building's infrastructure in relation to current challenges like the ecosystem and others. The professor also discussed the new rector selected by the IIUM.

Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Osman Bakar has been appointed the seventh rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

Personal Reflection

Basically, sustainable development is a balance between human demands and the environment's ability to supply those needs now and in the future. Reflecting on the introduction, I'm struck by how linked our social, economic, and environmental systems are. The notion that today's activities will affect future generations highlights a duty that extends beyond individual desires—it asks for a social consciousness. The inclusion of this subject forces me to think beyond short-term gains and evaluate how my decisions influence both the world and people, prompting a stronger dedication to bringing about long-term, good change.

Application of Learning

To relate to the learning system featured in this subject, we must first study the outside world. To obtain reliable facts, we must do in-depth analysis. Furthermore, when it comes to problem solutions, we must consult with our pals.

Conclusion

Finally, the professor conveyed enlightenment with clarity and phrases that were simple to understand. Furthermore, by studying this subject, I realized that there are several things that we can improve, including the cleanliness of the dormitory, and we have already discussed this matter in this week's class. I hope that in the next class, we will be able to discuss topics that are more practical to practice in everyday life.
