Assalamualikum Wbt. My name is AHMAD HAIKAL SYAHMI BIN OTHMAN, I'm from the department of Arabic language and literature.
Class Overview
Today, I went to the mosque with my coworkers, and we saw
the facility inside. This is one of the university's duties and
responsibilities regarding sustainable development. This mosque has several
amenities, including air conditioning, a mosque tube, bookshelves, a place to
store glasses, and a large public area with intriguing architecture. This issue
is also related to SDG target number four, which is to improve learning
quality, goal one, which is to end poverty in all of its manifestations, and
goal nine, which is to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and
sustainable industrialization, and support innovation.
Personal Reflection
My personal reflection upon this task, what I can say: this
is a picture depicting in the mosque as a place of worship that calls people to
reflect and pray and affiliate themselves with Allah. The images showcase the
architectural splendor and vast tranquility of the prayer hall with its soaring
ceilings, intricate designs, and spaciousness for worshippers. The elaborately
patterned red carpet shows, like it or not, a symbol of warmth and respect
leading the people into their line-up during prayers.
The presence of books and a small library shelf shows regard
for knowledge in this space, marrying worship with learning and contemplation.
In one of the photos, someone was vacuuming, which speaks highly to the care
and respect given to keeping the sanctity of this place intact. It's the
reminder that the practice of worship is not just spiritual devotions but also
physical acts of attention and devotion.
In most instances, these pictures exude feelings of
calmness, family, and respect, and find the mosque as a site where
individualism in reflection as well as collective respect is practiced,
spiritual and intellectual efforts merge effortlessly.
Application Of Learning
Knowledge and Education: The picture of the bookshelf in the
mosque depicts the emphasis on learning and continuous self-improvement in
Islam. Books on religion, philosophy, and many other subjects suggest that
places of worship can also be places of learning. This indicates that religious
knowledge must go hand in hand with greater education, which can be applied to
personal development.
Spiritual Development: Contemplation of the architectural
design of the mosque, prayer space, and religious symbols increases awareness
of Islamic cultural and spiritual life. The architectural design of the mosque,
considering the serenity of the environment and how well organized it is, may
allow the children to learn the importance of cleanliness, discipline, and
respect in spiritual settings. Such an environment can help one build on one's
appreciation for prayer and meditation in personal and community development.
Conclusion
These photos capture the serenity, richness in culture, and
community in IIUM SHAS Mosque. The images show aspects of the mosque, ranging
from structure to the details inside. Each of those elements is indicative of a
place-intricate patterns, a well-arranged bookshelf, and showcasing how a
mosque is not just a place where one comes to worship but also to learn, serve,
and connect.
Moreover, photographs remind one of the requirement to care
for and show respect towards spaces that are common. They advocate for
reflection on spiritual and social functions of the mosque, since faith is
about shared responsibility, community service, and perpetual learning. This
collage gives you an overall effect of calm, unity, and reverence-most aptly
displayed in capturing the essence of the mosque as a space where spirituality,
knowledge, and community blend harmoniously.
